The study is conducted to examine use and impact of Electronic resources by students, teachers and research scholars of VTU affiliated Engineering Colleges, Karnataka. The survey research method was adopted for the study. A questionnaire was used as a data collection instrument. The collected data has been analysed with the help of SPSS. Statistical methods like percentage and chi-square were used. The study revealed that 99% of the respondents felt that they did not know the resources well enough, 99.41% users feel that training is important, and 33.10% respondents have agreed about the statement electronic document would rule the future libraries whereas 38.34% disagreed. However there is need for them to acquire more skills in the use of electronic resources. Application of Information Technology in the library is not difficult, if library professionals are aware of the technology. At the same time Librarian should give training to the users for effective use of resources. Otherwise whatever technology application implemented in the library is waste of money and time. The successful digital library will be one that keeps pace with the ever-changing world of information technology. Library professionals must stay up to speed in adopting new models, working in tandem with educators to re-define the learning process to incorporate electronic publishing and resources.
