The study presents the growth and the contribution of research carried out by the scientists of Periyar University (PU). The pattern of communications of authors and scattering of their research out put in different journals, analysis the strong and weak areas of university research. The study shows that there was a gradual growth of publications during 2005 - 2014. Relative Growth Rate (RGR) was found to be fluctuating trend during the study period. The Doubling time (Dt) was found to be increased and decreased trend in this study. Degree of collaboration and its means value is found to be 0.963.
