The information needs of the users of libraries of engineering colleges have become complex and
problematic due to the tremendous publications and interdisciplinary researches that are being promoted at the
level of higher education. The librarians working in these institutions need to pay sincere attention to acquire
appropriate and need based literature in these subjects to the utmost satisfaction of their academic staff and
students. In this critical situation, librarians should have a clear understanding of their users’ needs and their
